As the principal and sole designer and developer of WestEggWeb, John Gavin has been designing websites since 2001. With a lengthy background in the restaurant business, selling, pouring, and purchasing fine wines, John’s initial focus was on building clean, functional websites for small wineries in Napa and Sonoma that wanted to use the web to reach new customers and develop loyalty among existing customers. Also having experience writing script criticism for Miramax and other independent film producers in Hollywood, John brought a writer’s and editor’s eye to his projects, and, with his understanding and appreciation of wine and wine sales, helped wineries craft cohesive and focused messaging in their website copy, and helped wineries and other clients streamline and communicate their core messaging.
John is primarily a self-taught developer, though he did start with two courses in web-design at Santa Rosa Junior College. John has since completed online courses in PHP and JavaScript.
Since beginning in the website business, WestEggWeb has built sites for dozens of wineries, mostly local, though it’s also built sites for wineries as far away as New York and Santa Barbara, as well as for restaurants, law firms, and businesses in California and throughout the country.
WestEggWeb has been operating as an LLC since 2009.
